HR Graduate Programme: With over 5,500 employees, Human Resources (HR) plays a key part in driving people management and development across the business. Our 18 month HR Graduate Programme has two streams with a broad range of placements within our corporate, operations and regional HR teams.
Responsibilities vary greatly across our HR teams. You may be involved with projects including: management and analysis of key data to guide HR policies and procedures; identifying competency gaps to support employee development and training; line manager coaching; resolution of HR queries within a department; and other such initiatives and activities. To succeed, you will need to build effective working relationships with managers and employees.
Training & Development: You will be supported through a Professional Development Plan (PDP) that may involve appropriate professional courses delivered through the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and other internal courses.
Entry Requirements: With an HR interest, you should achieve a minimum 2:1 degree in any discipline, although a Social Sciences, Psychology, or Business related degree would be an advantage. With strong academics, you will also need to be highly motivated and a proactive team player who gets things done. You will be self-sufficient and confident at putting ideas forward, have an eye for detail and an analytical mind, be adept at planning and organising within tight deadlines, and be able to solve problems and approach tasks creatively. Mostly you are willing to learn new skills and build good relationships with other employees through effective communications.
You must also have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme, be flexible to relocate to a UK distribution spoke whilst on placement, hold a valid driving licence and be fluent in English.
Process: Firstly, upload your CV. If successful, you are then invited to complete online tests, a telephone interview and attend one of our graduate assessment centres, held from February 2012. Finally, there is an interview and HR related presentation. Applications will remain open until all the vacancies have been filled or up to the deadline, whichever comes sooner. Applications are considered on a first come first served basis so apply at early to avoid disappointment.
THIS PROGRAMME IS NOW CLOSED FOR APPLICATIONS UNTIL OCTOBER 2012
