Akashi Japanese Blended Whisky 50cl
£29
£33£58 per litreProduct information
White Oak was the first Japanese distillery to be granted a proper whisky distillation license, back in 1919.
A beautiful and typical Japanese blend made from 30% malted barley and 70% grain, matured in American oak casks for five years (three in Hogsheads and two in white oak barrels).
Pleasant freshness and spices with almost sugary, fruity aromas. Vibrant and powerful on the palate, woody notes lead the way to tasty dried fruits. An expression you can enjoy both neat and mixed.

Japanese Blended Whisky
This is a smooth tasting, rounded finish on the palate whisky. Served neat in a chilled tumbler glass. I received free from Ocado for writing a review.
Received this whiskey to review
Wow, did not disappoint! For any whiskey drinkers out there I recommend you try this. A light, clean drink which is very more ish.
Sweet and smooth whisky.
Comes in a nice box and nice 500ml bottle. Didn't like the screw top. A cork would be better. A light straw colour in the glass. Making it natural looking vs other blended whisky that has been artificially coloured to appear darker. The smell is of honey. Initially sweet and smooth in the mouth, courtesy of the bourbon barrels. Slight lingering burn aftertaste but overall a good blended whisky.
Fine example of a blended whisky done right
We were given this whisky for free to try. I do not like whisky however my husband agreed to be the guinea pig and has this to say " Japanese craftsmen are famous for trying to excel in everything they do. I am a great admirer of Japanese products. Japan has a rich tradition of whisky-making and Akashi showcases its meticulous craftsmanship and dedication to quality. It is a fine example of a blended whisky done right. I will say it loud and own it: here's no need to be a snob about blended whiskies blending is a true art and very hard to master. Akashi whisky is smooth and easy to drink, making it perfect for those just starting their whisky journey. Its balanced flavour and gentle finish ensure a pleasant experience for newcomers -and seasoned whisky fans )"
Smoother than most premium whiskeys
Easy drinker, was given to review, great colour and husband said it's a unique flavour. At full price, it's a small bottle.
A Nice Surprise
I got this on a free trial and have been most impressed. It tastes rather like a liquor with a pleasant tang. It's smooth and can be drunk neat without the burning taste of single malts. I recommend this product....Cheers !
