new formula doesnt work
Weve used Ariel for years, occasionally trying out a different brand if theres a really good offer and always coming back to Ariel powder. Since this new formula that apparently dissolves in cold water, our washing hasnt been coming clean, smelly armpits, food stains and it smells odd. Its so bad! Ive found a couple of boxes old branding Ariel from another shop and the difference is night and day. I dont know what to do when these run out. Im not buying this new cold water Ariel again.
Smells acrid now
It no longer has that clean fresh smell. It's cloying. I'll finish my box, but won't buy it again. I wonder if the Ariel Professional powder is still the original version? 50 years of using Ariel Powder and now I have to find a new one!
Smell like from washing powder in communist times
The washing is OK. Comparable to copsules. Not sure if "fast dissolving" does anything else except but the smell. The smell is terrible. I rember that one of the powders in communist yugoslavia in the 80's had similar smell. But I the smells dissapear/changes once you iron your clothes. So not a huge drawnback. If you plan not to iron use different powder/pods/liquid. I would also suggest checking a bit if you have irritatable skin. For our babies we use different detergent so I cannot tell you about that. Regarding smell from previous powder - I agree with all the people here - It was better
Whats happened to Ariel!!
As a family weve only ever used Ariel Powder for our washing for decades. As a child I even remember our Mum washing/boiling our nappies in it. Everything was always spotless and soft. Now the dreaded words Fast Dissolving have appeared on the box and it doesnt seem to get our clothes as clean and our bath towels are so hard they now double up as after shower exfoliators. The smell has also been ruined and you seem to have to use more to clean the same amount of washing. Soooooo disappointing.
Terrific
I always find Ariel to be the best. This is a real step up. My white bed sheets are coming up whiter and stain free, even on eco washes.
Terrible smell, wasted money on a huge packet
I have done two washes with this after having used another detergent over time. This leaves a horrible acrid smell on the clothes, ( I have cleaned and disinfected the washing machine in between washes just in case it was due to dirt in it). This Ariel also seems to neutralise the scent of a very good conditioner, which previously was leaving the clothes smelling fantastic, now it doesn't. Terrible waste of money, on both the Ariel and the conditioner that doesn't work with it. Extremely annoying.
