Christmas cake
Perfect for making Christmas cakes. Full of flavour and beautiful aroma
With real cinnamon, not cassia
Bart uses true cinnamon, much nicer than the cheaper cassia used as a substitute by most brands. However, in my opinion, this spice blend has proportionally too much coriander to be ideal for fruit cakes. Bart Fairtrade Organic Mixed Spice seems to have a bit less coriander & so proportionally more cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg & clove, but that blend seems to be currently unavailable.
Just what I needed...
Ideal for baking. Great strength of spice/flavour and easy to store with my other spices.

Decided to start baking again now that flour, sugar, etc. are not as scarce as an honest politician and so needed some mixed spice. The choice was limited, but glad to see Bart offered one. Not tried this before, but I prefer it now to other brands. Barts ratio of the cocktail of spices involved must differ to Schwartz, et al. And my fruit cake is all the more happy success as a result.
