Maison Emma M Louise
" Maison Emma M. Louise is inspired by family stories, told around the table. Our parents and grandparents,
including Marie Louise, born in 1903, have woven together tales of life in Champagne and Provence in the 1920s,
but also in the vineyards of the South of France in the 1960s. They never stopped being in love of the culture of
French winemaking. The birth of our daughter in 2006, Emma, made us realise that we want her to grow up loving
the classic French wines, but we knew in the modern lifestyle things would be different.”

Tasting Notes
A mature red colour with some purple glints. Typical of its terroir on the nose with spices, black pepper, black cherries and blackberries. The palate is elegant and complex, with distinctive velvety tannins. This delightful wine has great length, ending on dark fruits and herbaceous garrigue.

Vinification Details
Sustainable viticulture with careful pruning, de-budding, de-leafing and green harvest. Hand-picked at peak maturity where small baskets and fast
transportation to the winery avoid juice release and oxidation. The vines are hand sorted and gently crushed before fermentation at 28°C and a 3 week long maceration. The juice is pumped over daily during the fermentation. The tannic Grenaches are aged in French barrels for 12 months while the softer, fruitier wines are aged in cask and tank for the same amount of time. The wines are then carefully blended to create a balanced expression of the wine
