HOW TO ENJOY
For the more adventurous, top GAIL’s San Francisco Sourdough with ricotta, sliced peaches and a drizzle of honey. Or, for more traditional palates, spread with a crunchy nut butter and sprinkle of salt.
STORAGE
Baked fresh and never with any preservatives, we recommend storing GAIL’s sourdough in a cool, dry place. To keep the bread for longer, slice immediately and store in an airtight container in the freezer, taking out slices and toasting, as desired.
Towards the end of its life, we recommend transforming the loaf into croutons, bruschetta or even French toast.

Brand
We bake our loaves daily by hand with natural ingredients, and though we’re always innovating, our baking is based on time-honoured techniques and our decades-old starters.
Nothing gives us as much pleasure as a freshly baked, lovingly crafted loaf.
Our first GAIL’s bakery opened in London’s Hampstead High Street in 2005. And now we’re bringing our neighbourhood bakery even closer to you, making good bread more widely available to our community.
Though we’ve grown over the years, our philosophy has remained the same: to make good food that people love, and create bakeries that people want to keep coming back to.

Rock solid
I personally don't like when my teeth are chewing on squeaky hard bread. This one isn't for me. I made a criss cross cut hedgehog style garlic bread with this and it was a workout just trying to cut it. Didn't taste amazing either.
so so
This bread has made me realise how good I am at baking bread as I always thought I was terrible but if this is the quality thats been sold in supermarkets then I must be good right!? Having said that I find this brand of bread dense and a little moist but delicious when toasted.
best bread ever!
So delicious. Stays fresh for a week.
Delicious toasted
Fresher if you buy directly from Gails but still good. Best toasted as the crust is very hard. Ive sliced the rest of the loaf and frozen as it doesnt stay fresh for long. Great flavour and texture. Not too sour which we like. Proper sourdough!
delicious
Got in the flash sale and was pleasantly surprised really tasty sourdough one of the nicest Ive tried will definitely buy again
We like it
It's expensive and I try to order when is on offer, it keeps well, I like the packaging it's convenient and keeps bread well, it's a sourdough so it is harder but I use it up for savoury french toast if is getting too steals, make a lovely toast especially with avocado. If you like harder bread, sourdough give it a try.
