“Excuse me while I get moist-eyed: Hawksmoor filled a yawning gap in our culinary life. One of my favourite restaurants of the last 10 years.” Jay Rayner, Observer
Since we opened our first restaurant in 2006, we’ve been working with passionate farmers across Britain doing things the old-fashioned way. Slowly, carefully, always focusing on the health and happiness of the animals and the land on which they graze. We believe that animal welfare, sustainable farming and supporting independent farmers are not just the right thing to do – they’re as close as you can get to a guarantee of great tasting beef.
From our network of farmers, this 35 day dry-aged British beef is exactly the same as we serve in our restaurants in London, Manchester and Edinburgh.
Beef, salt, heat. When it’s as simple as that the beef really has to be the best there is.
“Flawless. The best steak you’ll find anywhere.” Giles Coren, The Times

Preparation and Usage
If the weather allows, start on the barbecue over white hot coals. If not, use a cast-iron griddle or heavy-gauge frying pan and get very hot (if using a frying pan add a nugget of beef dripping). Season generously with Maldon sea salt just before cooking and turn the steak regularly until it forms a delicious dark golden brown crust. Then transfer to a pre-heated oven (200°C / 180°C fan) for 15-25 minutes (for medium rare), turning halfway through cooking. Use a temperature probe to hit your desired cuisson (guideline temperatures included on packaging).
Hawksmoor’s top chef, Matt Brown, has been Head Chef of not one but two restaurants with three Michelin stars. Let him teach you how to cook the perfect steak, sides and more. For Matt’s masterclasses visit thehawksmoor.com/steak

Such superior flavour
Superior flavour and meat. Well hung. Brilliant instructions.
Flash sale masterpiece
I cooked this to medium rare and sliced thinly to have with salads at room temperature after resting for 20 minutes. it was gorgeous and will buy again even at full price.
Excellent
Have purchased this a few times now, and I am really impressed. Would recommend following the cooking instructions exactly.
OK joint but spenny
Got in flash sale. I was rather hoping for some of the fat others had complained about, but mine was very lean! I prefer a bit more fat on my joint, and generally think if you don't want fat or marbling, you're best off going for the much cheaper M&S-branded joints. That being said the joint was tender, but I still wouldn't buy full price.
Very nice
I bought this on flash sale as it’s a bit expensive for my budget at normal price. Cooked well even though I left it in for longer than recommended as I like my beef a bit more well done. My only problem was that it was a strange shape joint that kind of fell into two parts. I ended up serving lots of small slices from the two parts instead of being able to have nice large slices. Would I buy again…. probably not as at £26.50 it’s very expensive for what ended up a bit of a messy joint to serve.
Not consistent
Ive bought this and its been great but the last few times I have ordered it, it has been really sub standard. I would expect more for the price. Really fatty and not able to get any decent slices! Better to buy the steaks tbh. This is not Hawksmoor standard. Im surprised they allow their name on it.
