Not bad
Bought it in the flash sale despite bad reviews. It was stinking badly when taken out of packet. Was absolutely regretting buying, but still decided to pat dry and pan fry. Tasted it and was delighted to find it was actually very fresh and tasty. Really baffling. Not sure why the smell if its actually fresh! Glad I didnt throw it in the bin straightaway!
Gone off before date stinks
This is the second one I’ve had that’s gone off before the use by date. I thought I’d give it another go and maybe I’d just had a bad one. But my dinner is off tonight again :( won’t be buying again. Seems many have this issue
worst purchase
cooked the fish as instructed on the packaging, the fish smelt like it was off and did not look appetising even though it was in date! Never buying again
Worst fish I’ve ever had
I often buy whole sea bream and have been buying M&S lemon sole fillets for years without a problem. Tonight we opened 2 of these whole fish well within date. The smell was so bad I had to leave the room. Packet stated this may be the case. Anyway we cooked in the oven and started eating. I ate some of mine but it still smelt and tasted completely off and was really mushy. Then I had I bite of my husband’s fish which tasted completely different which is when I threw my entire dinner into the bin. Now I am desperately hoping I won’t succumb to food poisoning.
Foul not fish
Disgusting smell: granted, there is a label on the packet that warns you and states the smell will dissipate. It didn't. Left the fish for an hour, they still smelt worse than overstaying Guests, and nothing changed once cooked. Didn't taste too awful but couldn't eat them as smell was rank. Gave them to the dogs the next day and they STILL smelt grim! Dogs didn't seem to mind.
bad batch?
I see from the posters of the last day or two that their fish smelt bad and tasted worse. Maybe a bad batch.
