Used to be good
I have been buying these semi-dried tomatoes for years. They have always been delicious. Suddenly, they are completely tasteless, with weird clumpy bits of some kind of oil or fat that has congealed. Clearly the supplier or the recipe has been changed. Avoid!
good with olive oil
bit pricey but good and use olive oil instead of cheap rubbish oil (unless changed since i last looked!) so can cook with it, saves waste ,better than chucking down the sink!
Tasteless! Ruined an expensive recipe!
Don't waste your money they are bland. Maybe it was just a particular batch but come on M & S you can do better than this. Aldi's similar product would get my vote over these.
a sour-ish flavour
Specifically picked this because a cherry tomato has a lovely intensity. Less lovey in this example. Used it in a shepherds pie and could figure out why I kept getting pops of lemon it was that same astringent taste.
disappointed
Went mouldy in the jar very quickly. This has never happened to me with other sun-dried tomatoes. Will not be buying them again.
surprisingly good
used these (and the extra virgin oil) in a crab linguine, they were really nice. Not the deep flavour of sundried tomatoes, but I didn't want that- more like sun blush. A few left over went well with bread and cheese. would buy again.
