dry and crumbly
this used to be good. the last few times it has been dry strong and crumbly, won't be buying again
Not mild
this cheese was much more mature than stated, crumbly like extra mature with a taste and smell that was overpowering
Inconsistent quality
We've bought this quite a few times now and while the first few packs were good, the others have varied from inedible to just ok. Most of the recent packs have either been so crumbly to the point you couldn't grate or slice it, or it's been a much more mature variety than expected, that tasted and smelled disgusting. I won't be buying this one again!
Creamy, mild and good value
A good price for a nice creamy and mild cheese. Maybe not as creamy as more-expensive brands, but thats to be expected for the price difference.
OK'ish
Just ok. Mild Cheddar shouldn't be crumbly. I've noticed this in other brands also. Not just M&S. The only brand that is creamy and smooth, is Cathedral City's Extra Mild.
Nothing much
I'm not sure what changed since I left a 5-star review three years ago, but just ordered it now after a long time - the cheese didn't have much flavor and was crumbly, which isn't really a texture that suits mild cheddar. For once, the M&S equivalent is much better (and cheaper!).
