RECIPE HAS CHANGED
Last 2 I've had have been pureed as opposed to the old chunks and have an artificial sweetness now. Shame
Undecided
As someone else quite rightly says the consistency is like that of the middle of a fig roll. It's very grainy, but also jammy. I was expecting bits of aubergine, but was disappointed. It's also sweet and pretty hot. Haven't quite made up my mind about it. I think it would make a lovely dip mixed with some low fat creme fraiche.
Jammy
I tried this because Getta's have stopped making their's and I do like a bit of Aubergine Pickle with my dinner. This is quite different to the high aubergine content pickle from G. This one has a jammy consistency, halfway between a pickle and a chutney. Smooth texture which is actually quite good for making cheese sandwiches. I expect this changes from batch to batch so the jar I bought has a sweet jammy taste, medium aromatic spicety. I get cinnamon for not excessive. My jar didn't have heat in it at all. Barely a nod to it but as I said before I expect this changes batch to batch as does the strength of natural ingredients such as chillie and mustard seed. I really like it and if the one I prefer came back on sale I might actually buy both.
Wonderful pickle!
Lovely sweet aromatic taste and pleasant Aubergine pieces! I recommend it for dipping in toasted buttered bread. Yum!
Lovely
Brinjal pickle really tasty .
Hot, sweet pickle
This pickle is sweet and quite hot. I like hot but it is much hotter than I expected after reading the other reviews. Very enjoyable. For some reason I expected it to be chunky, it isn't but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
