"Internet Only" Prices - Terms & Conditions

In the past Ocado used to sell all Waitrose own-label products at the same price as Waitrose shops. We now set prices independently of Waitrose.

An "Internet-only Price" applies only to Waitrose own-label products, and means the price of that item is lower than the retail price of the identical item sold in Waitrose shops which provide the Waitrose Deliver service, including items on promotion (but excluding temporary, end-of-life in-store markdowns). Catchweight items, which are items that are charged per unit of weight and have their price printed on them (such as certain meats and deli items) are also excluded.

The product comparison is with identical items only i.e. identical pack size/weight, identical flavour and identical branding. One Waitrose sub-brand (e.g. Essential Waitrose) will not be compared with another (e.g. As Good as Going Out) or with an Ocado sub-brand (e.g. Ocado Everyday).

We flag each "Internet-only Price" product on the website. We recheck prices daily but there could be up to a one day delay between prices being checked and them appearing on our website. We will indicate the date of the most recent price check on the website (on the detailed information page of each product included within this policy and also at the bottom of each page where "Internet-only Price" products are flagged).

We take careful steps to ensure that all "Internet-only Price" items are indeed priced lower than the same product in-store (except for the exclusions already mentioned above), but as different Waitrose stores have different product ranges and product price changes may not take effect at exactly the same time, we may inevitably have missed a few. Similar difficulties sometimes occur with items on multi-buy promotion (e.g. buy 3 get 1 free). If that is pointed out to us we will remedy the position promptly.

Where Waitrose have temporarily discontinued a particular Waitrose own-label product, Ocado will continue to provide the customer with a lower price than the last Waitrose selling price identified. As a result of this you may see some products with an earlier date than the most recent price check day indicated at the bottom of the website page on which that product appears. However the precise price check date applicable to such product will be indicated on its detailed information page.

Ocado delivery charges, which range from £0 (free) to £6.99 and are shown on the slot booking page of our website, continue to apply. Customers who are Ocado Delivery Pass members (formerly "Ocado On Demand") do not pay any additional charge for delivery (click here to see full terms for Ocado Delivery Pass membership).
