This year 128,000 babies won’t see their first birthday because of newborn tetanus, a disease that is one of the biggest causes of infant mortality in less industrialised countries today.
But newborn tetanus can be easily prevented through life-saving vaccines. With Unicef, Pampers and Fairy have launched the ‘Gift of Life’ initiative.
Our aim: to eliminate newborn tetanus with the help of mums.
For every pack of Pampers or Fairy you buy we will give on your behalf one life-saving vaccine which will help protect a baby. To date mums around the world have donated over 200 million vaccines, helping to protect babies around the world from newborn tetanus.
Just by buying Pampers and Fairy you can continue to help eliminate newborn tetanus and help give the ‘gift of life’ to more than your own baby.
Together we can help eliminate newborn tetanus!
*For every marked pack purchased, Pampers will donate 4.9p to UNICEF UK (Registered Charity 1072612) to help provide one tetanus vaccine to a woman of child-bearing age in less industrialized countries. Just two vaccinations given during pregnancy, for example, will protect mother and child against tetanus at birth and for the next 2 months. For more information see www.pampers.com. UNICEF does not endorse any brand or product. Pampers supports UNICEF.
