This is everything white bread is meant to be. Imagine a time before fluorescent white slices, plastic bags and low fat spreads as you enjoy a thick chunk with a good helping of butter.
About GAIL's
GAIL's believes in the art of honest breadmaking. We start with just four simple ingredients: flour, water, salt and yeast, and we never add artificial colours or flavours. Instead, we seek out the best ingredients from where they're best, whether it's hand-peeled Bramley apples from Britain, single source unsalted butter from France, or plump juicy olives from Mediterranean groves. All our loaves are made by hand too, so we never need to add the stabilisers and preservatives that are an unavoidable fact of industrialised bread.
Our selection of classic and globally-inspired artisanal breads includes a range of sourdoughs made from 15-year old wild yeast starters. Allowed to rise slowly and naturally, these loaves take 48 hours to make and possess a mature taste and character that a mechanically processed loaf couldn't hope to match.

AN EXCELLENT SOURDOUGH
Like their other Sourdoughs this is a great bread. We buy two each week and have never been disappointed. Much better than Tesco Sainsbury and Waitrose for that matter. Well done Ocado.. and Gails of course

Eat+it+quickly+-+it+wont+be+a+problem+to!
The+most+fantastic+bread+to+dip+into+olive+oil+and+balsamic+vinegar+for+a+yummy+snack+or+starter.+Eat+the+day+it+arrives+as+it+does+go+stale+quickly+-+in+our+house+that+isnt+a+problem!++Need+to+try+slicing+and+freezing+as+suggested+to+get+my+fix+all+week!

Sensational! Its sourdough bread at its best so don't expect a uniform texture. Its light, moist and airey inside and just so delicious with a dry crust that is a taste sensation. You'd be crazy not to try it!

The best sourdough I have tasted
Absolutely excellent. I only use it toasted and it is superb. Slice and freeze and use when you need it.

I have yet to find a good Gail's bread. They all look great and miserably fail in the taste department. No comparison to Paul's or Le Pain Quotidien's.
