Product Description

Albarino grape is native to Galicia and is the dominant grape variety of Rías Baixas D.O. These small, thick skinned berries produce high quality, richly aromatic wines that are left unoaked to express the purity and richness of the fruit. Taboexa is the name of one of our vineyards from which we get the grapes to make this wine.
Our philosophy of only using our own estate grown fruit and thus controlling the quality, coupled with modern winemaking techniques, gives us the result of this wonderful wine. Definitely a great Albarino.

Bland and lacking character

We tried this for a change from our usual Viognier or Chardonnay favourites hoping that it might become another favourite. We were disappointed and very glad we had not paid full price.

Peachy

Very slightly effervescent. Both smells and tastes markedly of peach, with some pear and lychee. I find it a good example of the grape, but I can see that some may prefer something a little more austere.

Too fruity

Albarino is one of my favourite grapes but I was really disappointed by this one - much too fruity. Not up to normal standard for waitrose selected wine.
