most delicious potatoes

I have never had any problems with shelf life as some reviewers say they have. I have cooked as suggested on the packet and they are extremely delicious and easy, as they need no peeling, All the family love them.

great potatoes

I have seen negative reviews but I have bought these lots of times and never had a problem. They taste fantastic ,best baked in oven with a sprinking of crunchy salt flakes. They are buttery inside and skins thinner than usual, they also look more interesting due to the colour.

Good but very short shelf life

Lovely flavour. Tastes like old fashioned jacket potatoes cooked in the bonfire.

Delicious!

I am mystified by the negative reviews here. I've bought these several times, and never had a problem with sprouting, and if you follow the recipe on the bag for roasting in their skins, they are truly delicious! Gorgeous flavour, soft and buttery within, and they look really pretty. I've even served them at a dinner party as they're so easy to cook.

An imaginative way to market substandard spuds?

Apache potatoes are marketed as "Stunning red skins splashed with pale cream patches". These pale cream patches are where the red skin has been mechanically rubbed off to remove sprouting, presumably for the short shelf life of this variety. It would probably be more honest if Albert Bartlett explained this. But then, I don't expect they'd shift as many. I don't have a problem with 'non-standardised' fruit and veg - but this doesn't feel right.
