Price per 100g: £1.66

Product Description

Amber in colour with a rich caramel taste, reminiscent of treacle toffee and sweet molasses. Waitrose pure Canadian maple syrup is collected from the Beauce, an area in South East Quebec province, centred on the Chaudière river where there is a naturally large concentration of sugar maple trees. Collected in just a few weeks in spring, produced simply by evaporation, it takes 40 litres of sap to create 1 litre of pure maple syrup.

Product Information

Store in a cool dry place. Once opened keep refrigerated below 5ºC and consume within 28 days. For best before date see neck of bottle.

Excellent for cooking and baking, as the richer flavour comes through strongly, but may also be used as a sweet dessert topping.

This only lasted a month before it had horrid mould growing on the top of it! I've had bottles of maple syrup from Vermont that have lasted years! The taste of this one is quite harsh, not as smooth as the real thing from New England. For the cost it's not good.

Delicious stuff

Lots of recipes that use honey are even better if you use maple syrup instead.

naughty but hell, soooo nice

My one indulgence. Smoky, treacly, natural product from the sap of maple trees makes a sap out of me. Worth every penny.

Just wonderful!

We bought this maple syrup having started making pancakes for breakfast and went with the reviews. We can only agree with the reviews, this maple syrup is rich in flavour. We worked out it goes really well with banana pancakes, a beautiful combination.

The best!

I've tried many maple syrups, including Buckwud, Clark's 1 & 2 and others whilst on holiday in Canada. None of them come close to this Waitrose No2. It has a naturally beautiful full maple flavour. Delicious on cereals, pancakes and porridge. Pure maple syrup is recognised as a healthier alternative to most honeys too. Yum!
