Amber No. 2 Maple Syrup Waitrose 330g
Product Description
Amber in colour with a rich caramel taste, reminiscent of treacle toffee and sweet molasses. Waitrose pure Canadian maple syrup is collected from the Beauce, an area in South East Quebec province, centred on the Chaudière river where there is a naturally large concentration of sugar maple trees. Collected in just a few weeks in spring, produced simply by evaporation, it takes 40 litres of sap to create 1 litre of pure maple syrup.

Deep, full flavour syrup.
We have tried the organic no.1 syrup which was candy apple sweet - more suited to our children's taste palette. No.2 syrup is the one the adults in our household love best. It has a depth to it and a maturity to the flavour that gives a bit of interest to our vanilla pancakes on a Saturday morning.

Gorgeous deep flavour
I'm from Canada originally and really miss the darker, stronger-flavoured maple syrup that you can buy over there. I'm really pleased to have found this. The strong flavour makes it ideal for baking with too, because you can really taste the maple syrup flavour, rather than just general sweetness.

Delicious on pancakes!
I decided to go with No.2 Amber having read the reviews and I was not disappointed. Just tried it this morning with pancakes and it has a lovely deep flavour. It's not too sweet either. Will definitely be buying it again.
