We first met our friend Engineero in the pretty Ligurian town of Sassello many years ago. He proudly told us all about Sassello, not only home to his family for generations but also known as the home of Amaretti. His family's bakery has been making their award-winning biscuits to the same traditional recipe for over 150 years and Engineero is never far away to ensure that the Amaretti they bake remain the best town!
Why not stop by and join us for recipes and inspiration, little slices of Italian life, and more. New friends are always welcome!

Individually wrapped unnecessary
Despite their soft texture and almond taste I wouldn't recommend buying individually wrapped amaretto that are packed in another plastic package within a paper box.It is very bad for the environment and I will not buy this product qgain
"may contain wheat"
Amaretti is generally gluten free but leave it to M&S to make sure to stock only those that might contain gluten and wheat. You clearly don't give a hoot about your celiac customers.
Lovely
Yes,they are sweet and soft, nothing like crunchy Amaretti, but they taste lovely to me,with a hint of bitter almondvery moreish!
Packaging overkill and sugar high
The box contains a bag full of individually wrapped super sweet amaretti.
far too sweet
i just taste sugar with a hint of almond
Awful
I like amaretti and looked forward to having these delivered as a treat with my mid morning espresso. The previous reviews seem to focus on them being too soft which is a bit mad as they are sold as soft amaretti. I did find them nice and soft but that is about the only thing that is right with them as they have very little flavour and any they do have is overpowered by the sweetness of them. They are like eating a sugar cube. Both my husband and I thought they were awful. They went in the bin which was rather a waste of money.
