This shiraz Mataro is a smooth, soft red wine with ripe cherry fruit flavours and a touch of oak.

Banrock Station


Keeps fresh for up to six weeks after opening. As wine is consumed, the inner bag collapses, ensuring that air is excluded and wine quality is maintained.


It is delicious with pasta, red meats and blue or matured cheeses.

Opening Instructions:
1. Lay cask flat with perforated opening facing upwards.
2. Break and lift perforated section to expose pourer. Remove circular cardboard tab from perforated flap.
3. Carefully pull through large opening and slide into circular opening.
4. Push flap down behind threaded neck of pourer to lock it in place.
5. Remove security seal.
6. To dispense wine, stand cask upright and activate flap

A reasonable boxed red wine, quite smooth-tasting but I wish the alcohol percentage was s smidge lower.

Best price and quality around

My husband loves this wine and is delighted to be able to get it at 14% strength rather than 13 or 13.5% which is generally on sale at a dearer price. Long may it be available.

It's ok

Not too bad from the selection available, but we prefer to buy Hardy's Stamp from another big online supermarket for an extra couple of quid!

Not that great

I had one glass of this and then used the rest of it to make sangria. It wasn't awful but wasn't good either, I won't be buying it again.
