History

Brancott Vineyard is our original Marlborough Vineyard and inspiration behind our name. With its special combination of soil, sun and climate, this is where we first pioneered our countrys most internationally-acclaimed varietal - Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Regional Information

Another excellent growing season with dry conditions for most of the harvest. A warm November and December set up good flowering and fruit set. Cooler weather over late February through till the end of harvest slowed the season up, but this is seen as very positive in terms of retaining natural acidity in the wines and in building intensity of flavour. Although rain was experienced in late April, this had little effect on the vintage as most of the fruit had already been harvested.

Vinification Details

The grapes were harvested from late March to late April 2011. After harvest, the grapes were destemmed then underwent a three to four-day cold soak prior to fermentation in closed-top fermenters. A number of yeast strains were used to provide a complex range of flavours. The wine was then drained and racked to stainless steel tanks for malolactic fermentation to naturally soften the acidity.

Not nice

This wine is watery, an odd colour and really not drinkable. I was really surprised because of the cost. Yuk! Have thrown the bottle away.

Great Pinot Noir

This is my favourite Pinot Noir and I definitely recommend it if you like new age wines.

Not bad

A pleasant wine, drinkable but not much texture. Can probably do better for the money.

Uck

Didn't really like it. Watery consistency and overly spicy flavour.
