Waitrose British Veal Escalope
Waitrose veal is supplied by one farmer in East Anglia, who has been supplying Waitrose and Ocado since the early 90's. All the veal we sell is British and comes from calves that are born and reared on British farms. The British calves are reared and housed in well-ventilated buildings with plenty of natural light and straw bedding. They're fed a diet of Milk, Water and Cereal, that produces tender delicate meat. There is a close working relationship between the dairy farmers and beef producers to ensure that male calves from Waitrose milk production are offered a viable outlet in Waitrose Beef and veal production.

Dreadful
Very disappointed by the lump of veal that was delivery. The definition of escalope is a thin piece of meet not what was delivered, I will need to slice before cooking and will have lots of postage stamp sized pieces. NOT IMPRESSED

Disappointing - 2nd time purchased
Our second order of veal escalopes was nowhere near as good as our first. For one thing we suffered the size problem that others have commented on before - one long flat piece and another short and very thick piece. In a butcher's shop I would have rejected them. Moreover, the two pieces of meat were quite different in texture. Both were edible, but neither was tender. Seems the quality control needs to be tightened up - we shan't buy these again.

poorly butchered lumps of meat
I have just been charged over 21 pounds for 4 veal escalopes- as noted by previous reviewers these were enormous, almost an inch thick in places, tough and just not what you expect when you order escalopes. I recently bought 4 delicious veal escalopes for 6 pounds at my local farmers market and that is where I will go next time
