Popular choice
Despite appearances this mix attracts the biggest quantity and variety of birds in my garden and disappears quickly. Contrary to what another reviewer says, sunflower seeds are high in energy and the problem with the shelled versions is that they can get sticky in damp weather.

badly described
I don't know why the other reviewers have raved about this product. It is mislabeled and is basically 90% sunflower seeds in their shells. Nowhere near as good as other 'premium' feeds. Parent birds and birds in winter need quick access to a variety of high calorie seeds.. they don't want to be shelling sunflowers seeds.
Supplier Response - Feeder Seed was one of the first seed mixes designed to be used with tubular seed feeders and contains a high proportion of black sunflower seeds for their nutritional value and to keep the feeder flowing freely. It has been a popular mix for many years as it offers the birds the energy they need for a lower cost than sunflower hearts - de-husked sunflower seeds. The ultimate mix is our Hi-Energy No Mess which contains no husks, giving the birds just what they need during times of stress.

More expensive for a reason
I have been buying this seed regularly for a number of years and it is enjoyed by a wide variety of birds. I have occasionally run out and resorted to other 'qulaity' brands but the birds turn their beaks up at it! May seem pricy but there is no waste or cheap fillers.

worth the expense
I have never had so many birds at my feeder since I bought this feeder seed. I have nuthatches for the first time ever, as well as goldfinches and greenfinches, chaffinches etc. It makes a bit of a mess below the feeder but contains no wheat/maize like some so attracts no pigeons and jackdaws who previously scoff most of it. High percentage sunflower seeds. Quite expensive tho.

Good Quality general feed
You tend to get what you pay for. A good mix attracting a wide range of birds. My garden plants have had fewer insect infestations since more birds have visited the garden. I'm happy with thus brand there are a lot of inferior mixes around.
