Sparkling Brut Chardonnay
Casillero del Diablo sparkling wine is made entirely from Chardonnay grown in the Limari Valley. Although this desert region is the furthest north of all the Chilean vineyards it is cooled by the influence of the cold Pacific currents to the North and West. Due to the cool climate and special red mineral soils, Limari Chardonnay is fine and crisp with a satisfying texture and character.
This elegant gently sparkling wine has pure fresh zesty citrus fruit flavours with good body from a touch of oak-ageing.

Ok for kir royale
I've generally found Casillero Diablo to be fairly decent, but this disappoints. The aeration method can produce perfectly good sparkling wine, but much of the time it is applied heavy-handedly, so that the mouth-feel is like 7-up, which is the case here. Perhaps for that reason, the smell is rather funky. Taste is bitter, and without depth. I strongly recommend the additon of cassis.

Top notch fizz
Really really liked this. Bought whilst on special offer admittedly but will certainly be buying again at full price. Too good for bucks fizz, just delicious really chilled on it's own. Glad I bought 12 bottles!

Not to our taste
Granted I'm not a massive fan of champagne and the like to start with, but neither I or any of my friends found this palatable. The "mineral" taste it boasts of is horrible
