"You will know that I love this wine because I have recommended it in every one of the fifteen years I have been your wine writer! Bargain-priced and packed with masses of cassis fruit, drink it with the Puff pastry steak pizza and raise a glass to the clever little devil on the label." Daily Mail, Matthew Jukes

My thanks to LWCR
We drink light reds but they don't really work in slow cooked dishes, which require something more robust. I was arranging to do a beef stiffado and, whilst looking for something more appropriate, at a reasonable price, saw LWCR's review - it was like a flash of light; an epiphany - I took his or her recommendation and the result was PERFECT! So, great cooking wine for stiffado, bourgouignon or whatever (and I really enjoyed drinking the leftovers, whilst doing the cooking). Sincere thanks to LWCR.
perfectly competent
Varietal taste is there. not hugely complex but pleasant enough. handy to have a bottle around for guests as anyone who likes cab sauv reds shouldn't complain. fine for price
too artificially fruity
This was too heavy, sweet and overwhelming artificial red fruit. It tasted like blackcurrant and raspberry cordial added to ethanol. Fine for cooking
Good
We don't drink wine but we purchased this for cooking a beef stiffado and it was lovely.
Good smooth red.
Easy to drink with food or on its own. Lovely and smooth berry tasting wine.
Good when on offer
Wouldn't pay full price though
