M.CHAPOUTIER, founded in 1808, produce La Petite Ruche from the Crozes-Hermitage appellation in Northern Rhone. The wine expresses M. Chapoutiers' belief in creating wines that demonstrate complexity, finesse, and the << terroir >> of the Rhone valley.
Made from the Syrah Grape variety and traditionally hand harvested, La Petite Ruche is a medium-bodied, fruit driven wine that is ready for drinking now.

Unexceptional
The usual deep purple colour of Syrah, perhaps not quite as dark as some. Aroma of blackberry and thyme. Typical blackberry jam and cracked black pepper notes on the palate. Some slightly green tannins. I'm afraid at this sort of price, the New World offers better value - try Reynella.

Wildly over-priced
Perhaps I am missing something ... I don't normally pay this much for wine as I don't believe a higher price necessarily means better. This proves me right. I am writing a similar review today for another bottle too ...
