Handmade and ready to serve in individual ramekins.

Keep in a fridge that’s below 5ºC. They’re at their very best when cooked from fresh so please don’t be tempted to freeze them.

Prepare & Use

There's nothing simpler...
1. Pre-heat oven to 200ºC/Gas mark 6.
2. Remove all packaging, leaving the pies in their ramekins.
3. Place ramekins on a tray in the centre of the oven & bake for 25-30 mins, ensuring pastry turns golden brown.
4. Leave to stand for 4 mins before serving in ramekins, taking care of hot surfaces.

Ensure food is piping hot throughout. These instructions are a guideline only, all appliances vary

Dubious source of chicken

I like 'premium' pies, by definition this means a good quality pie, wholesome ingredients and responsible sourcing of meat. This pie seems to fail in many of these e.g. free range British chicken should be a basic but not so here. This product or any CB products cannot therefore justify the price tag for what is probably basic, battery farmed chicken from god knows where.

At this price, why not free range?

Considering how little chicken each pie actually contains, to use free range chicken would cost them very little extra. Anyway, leaving that aside, the pies are pretty decent - great pastry, sauce tasty but a bit watery/oily, and meat good to eat, if not for the bird itself. Would buy again if they started using free range meat.
