Cinnamon with Raisin and Apple Bagels
Legend has it that in 1683 a Jewish master baker in Vienna baked a bread, shaped like riding stirrup ('beugel'), as a gift of thanks to the King of Poland who helped the Austrians defend themselves against a Turkish assault.
Bagels appeared in Russia where they were said to bring good luck.
In Poland, they were bought as gifts for women in childbirth and used as teething rings for babies.
At the end of the 19th century, Jewish emigrants from Europe brought the bagel to the US and Canada. Many settled in New York which became the bagel 'capital' of the world.

poor
I think they forgot to put the cinnamon, Raison and Apple, in the ones I got, I've had tasteir plain bagels, for 40p more you can get New York Bagels, and what a difference.

Will+not+buy+again
Dreadful.++Tried+them+twice+just+in+case+I+was+unlucky+with+the+first+lot+as+they+are+so+much+cheaper+than+the+New+York+ones,+but+just+not+worth+it.++Dry,+flavourless,+very+disappointing.

Stodgy, bland and disappointing!
I normally have NYD bagels but I happened to try another supermarket's own brand version which were absolutely perfect, so I thought maybe Waitrose own would be similar, but how wrong could I be! Stodgy, tasteless didn't even taste fresh, very unhappy about these. Advice? AVOID.
