These toms are lovely. Sweet and flavoursome with a thick juice. Really good....

better quality than most

I often cook with fresh tomatoes and was surprised at how good these were. They are rich ,not at all watery and have great taste whether used in recipes or as they are.Well worth any extra cost.

Best tinned tomatoes ever

Rich, tasty, sweet. Am not normally a fan of tinned tomatoes but I could have eaten these straight from the tin!

Rating: 5 star out of 5

I was surprised how very much better these are than the average. If you are making e.g pasta sauce these make a real difference.

Poor substitute

These chopped tomatoes were an alternative to Waitrose Organic chopped tomatoes and were awful. Watery and poor tasting. Lots of 'core' pieces. When used in a dish they spoil the end result.

This Italian mixture of pasta and fava beans makes a nourishing meal, served with warm Italian bread. If you don't have time to soak the beans, use tinned ones instead - they are just as good, but remember to halve the cooking time.

Chickpea Tagine with Harissa

Strictly speaking, a tagine should be cooked in a traditional North African earthenware pot of the same name. One of the beauties of this recipe is that you don’t actually need one to make it. Another is that it is extremely Moorish, if you’ll pardon the pun. Harissa is a spicy paste made from chilli, garlic and various other seasonings.
