Has a nutty flavour

This is thicker than many Sunflower oils and has a nutty flavour. Personally i find the taste a little over powering for normal frying like eggs or french toast, but great when used for a stir fry or similar.

this is how real sunflower tastes and smells

I was surprised by how negative reviews are. It's unrefined! So smells and tastes like sunflower oil should. I regularly buy it for salads etc. if you want flavourless liquid buy flora.

Probably very pure, but too much taste!

I must admit, I use sunflower oil as an oil to use when I just need oil! I don't want a flavour. if I want flavour, I'll use the appropriate oil - olive, sesame, etc. This one is probably healthy, pure, etc., but for me, it just has too much of a flavour. So - I can't use it. I'm back to my old oil. For those of you who may like sunflower oil on a salad, this is probably wonderful.

Difficult to get the top off

I use this in one cake recipe and it works well there, but I wouldn't put it on salad. I had a lot of trouble getting the cap off - it spun round loosely and couldn't be turned, so I attacked it with a small knife, and, predictably, a bit of the cap splintered off and cut my hand. Would probably not get it again.

The smell is special

It's just the smell of it is so weird, I mean some might like it, but I really hate it and it stays on the food.

Passover Courgette and Leek Matzo Kugel

Passover Courgette and Leek Matzo Kugel

So why is this Pesach different from any other? Well we are spoilt for choice with our Matzah. In my local Kosher deli there were so many varieties – organic, gluten free, oat matzahs, wholewheat, spelt matzah, low salt, chocolate coated in addition to the different brands. It is not surprising that cooking with matzah can be confusing. This recipe for courgette and leek kugel can be made with any of them (except the chocolate!) It is best sliced using a serrated knife and is delicious with a tomato salad and jacket potato.
