Disappointing
I love vine leaves but these ones are mushy and don't taste great. I don't think the fact that they're tinned is the issue - I've had Cypressa ones from a tin and those were lovely - I hope Ocado starts stocking those instead!
Used to be delicious ..now inedible
In the past these used to be the best you could get and they were manufactured in Bulgaria. I bought them recently and they were disgusting. So much salt and acid and ended up in the bin. I see now they are manufactured in Turkey. You can get much better at far lower price. Stay away!
Delicious
These seam to be a bit like marmite. People have either loved them or hated them based on the reviews. I loved them, I didnt find them slimy and with a crisp salad they were absolutely delicious. The vine leaves are tender and the rice was very tasty with herbs coming through. I didnt pick up on any cardamon in there as another reviewer had indicated. I have added another tin to my order and hopefully that will be just as good. I have recommended them to a friend as I was enjoying my lunch so much at the time that I had to let her know.
Not sure what my waste disposal made of them
Small, falling apart and in some milky chemical tasting liquid. Shame for the producer but these are nothing like the fresh Dolmades you get at supermarkets which irrespective of whether you think are authentic they are at least tasty and substantial.
What happened?!
When I got the first tin of these last month, I wondered why all the bad reviews as I thought they were quite nice. The second tin - UGH! There was so much salt and citric acid in them that I literally couldn't eat even one, it was like biting into a salty, artificial lemon! Had to throw the can in the bin, don't ever remember having to do that with a can of any kind of food before....!
disgusting
A really odd chemical taste, like a marker pen or something like that. Ate one, threw the rest in the bin.
