Won't buy again since size has changed

These choc chips used to be the best, but now the chips are much bigger, and the packaging smaller. The chocolate chunks would be great if you want to make really luxurious big cookies or something, but for baking with kids they are too big, and I now need to break each chunk up into four, which defeats the object of buying chocolate ready broken up. Also, the packaging has been redesigned but this means that the hole is too small to pour the chunks out, and also the packaging is too easily broken open leading to refund requests

Excellent chocolate, but wasteful packaging

Used these to make choc chip cookies with my grandchildren. The chocolate was definitely better tasting than cheaper bags of chocolate chips I have had in the past, so 5 stars for that. However, I also agree with others reviewers that to have a larger size pack available would be much better, so only 4 star overall. Hopefully with reduced packaging they would be slightly cheaper too!

Fab choc chips

The choc chips are great - and I even use instead of regular cooking chocolate to melt in other recipes. Also like the packaging looks great in my baking cupboard...but...as others have said, I would prefer to be able to buy at least three times the quantity at a time in a single tube. It feels too wasteful to order three tubes.

Good chunks bad packaging

Chocolate ok, nice size chunks but too much packaging. Please can you stock chocolate chips in larger quantites? Better for my cookies and the environment.

Lovely chocolate but the price and packaging!

The chunks are great, but I'm using them for a recipe that calls for 300g. That's a lot of money, and three cardboard tubes wasted. I'd much rather buy these in bigger bags with less packaging.

Chocolate Chip Meringues

You can kid yourself that these are healthy as they are low fat, but they're not, they are hugely high in sugar but taste amazing, it is a good way of getting a chocolate fix without the fat. Serve these on their own or sandwiched with whipped cream and raspberries, strawberries or blackcurrants. Children can help to separate the eggs, but make sure that not one drop of egg yolk gets into the bowl with the egg whites as they won't mix properly. Use a mixer for quick results with whisking the egg whites but after that the rest of the mixing can easily be done by hand and by children.

Chocolate Chip Gingerbread Ice Cream

This is like choc chop cookie dough ice cream but made with gingerbread cookie dough. WARNING this recipe contains raw egg yolks in the cookie dough so please do not give to children under 3 years of age, pregnant women or elderly people. A great recipe for all the family to make, younger children will have great fun making the gingerbread dough, older children could make the egg custard under supervision. Make sure the custard and dough is well chilled before putting into the ice cream maker. If you don't have an ice cream maker you'll need a tupperware container and a day at home, ideal for a hot summer day when the children are in and out of the paddling pool. Once made this will keep in the fridge for 1 week.

Variation Make double chocolate chip cookies by replacing 25g (scant 1oz) of the flour with cocoa powder. Cook's Notes Don't worry if the golden cookies are still a little soft when you take them out of the oven - they will firm up as they cool, to become deliciously chewy.
