Cooks' Ingredients Bicarbonate of Soda

Bicarbonate of soda is a raising agent, which reacts with acidic foods such as lemon juice, buttermilk or cream of tartar to produce air bubbles that help a mixture to expand and rise. Often combined with baking powder to give an extra boost when baking, for example, gingerbread or parkin.

Worst ever packaging!

Extremely difficult to remove lid, especially for a pensioner!!

terrible packaging

The contents are fine but the packaging is awful. It's almost impossible to get the lid off. I won't buy this or the equivalent baking powder etc again.

packaging

I did not have an problems opening the container - but almost spilt it all when trying to close it. Inflexible lid with flimsy bendy container not the best design idea. How about a larger sturdier container to allow sufficient contents to use for cleaning etc.
