Don't substitute
I brought this to save a bit of time chopping up garlic as I use it in everything. This garlic's taste has suffered from the vinegary substance it's been preserved in. It's not a good substitute for fresh garlic.

Time saving and good value
I have used chopped garlic for some time now as a time saving device - this also seems to last much better than fresh, which often went off on us. Standard round jar eliminates the irritation that I used to suffer trying to get the last few bits of garlic out of the corners of the LZ garlic jar! A staple in my fridge.

Foul and vinegary
Perhaps there was something wrong with the jar we got but it was really acidic with an overpowering taste of vinegar and an odd aftertaste that was presumably the garlic. I bought this to replace the frozen Cook's Ingredients chopped garlic, but this tasted nothing like real garlic and was a complete waste of money. Avoid!

Time saving and handy
This chopped garlic stays fresh for ages and is of a very high quality. So easy to add to oil for pasta sauces, or to butter for garlic bread.

Vinegar-ie and acidic
Not great. Soaked in vinegar and hence very acidic. It's important to read the ingredients on these 'easy' style ingredients as there are often hidden oils, vinegars, gum etc. Not nice.
