strange taste
Really did not like these - bought them for teenage kids who didn't complain but I thought they were thin and had a strange taste. Nothing like Warburtons.

Not thin enough for me.
I like a toasted crumpet,but would prefer a pikelet which have disappeared from shops, so these 'thin' crumpets are good for me with a good spread of butter.

I often choose economy crumpets
as I figure they're all the same. However, these ones were very poor and much worse than other economy crumpets I've had. They were tasteless, which is quite a feat for something that has butter and marmite on them - and weirdly mine had hardly any holes in.

good for me
Now I'm no crumpet connoisseur but I always pop a pack of these in the freezer then double toast from frozen whenever I want a delicious hot buttered snack. What more is there to get from a crumpet?

Definitely Discount
These are very much a low quality, budget item. I happily buy other Waitrose Essential items, and just as happily buy the most expensive premium items. What matters is the quality of the products, not their label. These however, are a poor reflection of the Waitrose values. Poor quality, thin, too doughy, too dense, plus mine had large patches of mould within 2-3 days of purchase.
