REALLY SALTY
Was really excited when I found this bacon but the HUGE salt content has made it thoroughly unpleasant to eat. Will not buy again!

Great to find nitrate free bacon in a supermarket!
With processed meats having ridiculous amounts of additives and preservatives in them it is great to find this. I have tried a few of these 'old fashioned' bacon types now and they aren't as sharp in flavour as the bacon most of us have become used to but are even more delicious and don't leave you feeling that a love of bacon is doing you harm ref the government advice on eating ordinary processed meats.

This has the best smoky flavour of any bacon I've had since childhood, and I didn't find it terribly salty, as one reviewer did. It is awfully expensive, even compared to the butcher's bacon that Ocado sells, but then, it has no nitrates, so that's a BIG plus. The only real drawback was that the pieces were small and scrappy and, while I don't want my food militaristically uniform, they were wildly unsymmetrical, with a big chunk attached by the thinnest thread to an ultra-thin slice. If they could slice it a bit thicker, it would be nicer and surely easier to slice, so that you don't end up with tiny little scraps in the pan. But those tiny scraps are really, really tasty!
