Storage
Roll down top of pack to exclude air and reseal with tab. Store in a cool dry place and use as quickly as possible or within 2 months of opening.
Prepare & Use
Quick White Bread
500g Strong White Bread Flour;
1 tsp Salt;
1 tsp Sugar;
1 tsp Quick Yeast;
300ml Luke Warm Water;
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil.
1. Combine the flour, salt, sugar add quick yeast.
2. Mix in water bring together into a rough dough.
3. Add the oil and knead well.
4. Dust your work surface with flour, place the dough on top and knead vigorously for a few minutes.
5. Cut, shape & place the dough in oiled tins or on a baking sheet.
6. Cover & leave to rise in a warm place for 25 minutes.
7. Bake in a preheated oven for 25/45 minutes depending on size.

Just terrible
I'm a chef of 20 years and an experienced bread baker and I just cannot get a decent rise out of this yeast. I'm having to add three times the stated quantity to get any kind of rise, and even then the loaves are flat and wide. Won't bother again.

Must be missing something....
I purchased this yeast as there were some great reviews, however, I have found this yeast to be the worst i've ever tried - sorry! I am using it in a bread machine, and just cannot get the bread to rise. The bread is stodgy and dense, and so have switched back to Allinsons which has always given me good results, but I wanted a change as I don't like the individual sachets you get with Allinsons.

Extremely long-lasting yeast ...
I don't often bake my own bread so opened the packet start of February 2012, used it once to 4 times a month after that and it was still giving the same results in October 2012 when I finished it. I folded the open top over several times, secured a couple of times with tight elastic band & kept it in a very small tight-lidded plastic storage box/Tupperware in the fridge each time. Great results in my Kenwood breadmaker on the 1 hour rapid setting for one-third strong wholemeal to two-thirds strong white Waitrose flour.

Doves Farm Kamut Khorasan Bread

Excellent yeast.
I have been using this yeast for a few years now. I bake a loaf every 3 days. I use 4g of yeast to 400g bread flour. Once opened, the packet is tightly sealed with a bag clip and kept in the fridge. My loaves are lovely - I don't use a bread maker. A packet will last for 3 months. I have even used it straight from the freezer with perfect results.
