Hooray - banana shallots at last!
Lost count of the number of times I've sent a product request for banana shallots. Peeling and chopping the little pickled-onion-sized ones is so tedious and time consuming. These are a breeze to prepare, and taste wonderful. Only snag is the name - never heard of Echalion, so only found that these were now stocked completely by accident.

They've invited me to be first Again!
I've been buying these all along from Waitrose & I'm so glad that Ocado is now stocking them. I had been looking for "banana"shallots without success. They have great flavour,but the main reason I like them is that they are so easy to cut and peel.Recipes usually call for "finely chopped shallots" & most of the TV chefs use these. I've always had trouble peeling, slicing & even gripping those hard little shallots so now my cooking can achieve a higher degree of finesse
