Product Description

Free Range Chicken Breast Fillets
Air frozen without the use of ice or water.

From chickens reared on small, family-run farms where they have the freedom and space to behave more naturally, roaming and foraging at will in open pastures.
Reared exclusively for Waitrose on small, family-run farms in Northern Ireland. By day our free range chickens have unlimited access to open pastures where they can exhibit their natural behaviours such as foraging and dust bathing. By night they are protected from predators in purpose-built houses. The fact that they are reared for longer, combined with their outdoor life and natural, cereal-based diet produces chicken that is full of flavour, tender and succulent.

excellent value

These are excellent value for money, you can taste that the chicken is organic, I never buy frozen chicken breasts but decided to try this for a change, excellent for curry or chicken pie, or just roasted in the oven. I had no problem with ' freezer burn ' as others have reviewed just seal the bag properly before returning to freezer. Will be keeping this on my favourites list !

free range tick, freezerburn cross

As other reviewers have said, it's great to have frozen free range chiCoen. however lately, most of the packs I've received have been not just inconsistent in size, but pieces of chicken breast rather than the whole, often folded over and with excess fat on nearly all have freezer burn. why can't they put them in individual plastic sleeves like the fresh to frozen types to avoid this problem. Because no matter how these are cooked, I'm not getting an improvement on flavour over the regular chicken.

4 stars for being free range but...

Well, this is quite nice chicken, and I often buy it. I give it 4 stars because it's free range chicken and that's hard to get frozen. One warning is that the last pack I bought had quite a few pieces in it, which could be a problem for someone who wanted whole breast fillets. The other thing is, as with so many other meat products, is there is so much water that it is really hard to fry it to a golden brown. You have to fry several times, emptying out the water each time. It is about time somebody did a range of chicken and meats that had no added water - like they do with bacon, because I'm pretty fed up with it

Consistently good Free Range chicken

These chicken breasts did go through a phase a couple of years ago of being inconsistent quality. Sometimes they were fine and other times they had freezer burn. However I have been purchasing them regularly again now for over a year and they are always good. They are handy to have in the freezer and are so versatile. I use them for curries and stir frys or sometimes sprinkled with Cajun seasoning, a splash of lemon juice and olive oil and popped into the oven with the left over lemon piece thrown in - so nice for a hot chicken salad or sandwiches

Good vallue free range chicken for my family

Free range chicken breasts can be pricey, and it is nice to have an option to buy a larger quantity frozen to save a little money. Sometimes a few pieces in the bag are tiny, but their taste and texture is great. Do not expect all the breast pieces to be uniform in size, but on the whole they are nice large pieces.
