Cooking Instructions - General. For best results grill from frozen. Size and thickness of fish may vary, cook times are given as guidance, please note that larger thicker pieces may take longer to cook. Check that food is piping hot, if not, heat for a further brief period. Do not reheat once cooled. Preparation: Wash hands, all surfaces and utensils after touching raw fish.; Grill - From Frozen. Medium heat - 10-14 mins.
Preheat grill. Remove all packaging. Place mackerel on lightly greased oil before placing under a medium grill. Turn halfway through cooking. Heat until thoroughly cooked.; Shallow Fry - From Frozen. Medium heat - 10-12 mins.
Remove all packaging. Heat 1 tsp of vegetable oil in a frying pan. Place the frozen mackerel fillets skin side down into the pan. Cook over a medium heat turning halfway through cooking. Serve immediately.

taste good

it tastes good, and fast to cook, three minutes in the micro. But be aware of its mercury association, eat with moderation.

Fantastic mackerel

This is a brilliant product. Gorgeous large fillets of mackerel, hardly a bone to find, and great value. Can be cooked in the oven straight from frozen - do it on a high heat and the skin crisps up well and it's done within 15 minutes. I serve the fillets with roasted asparagus, courgettes and fennel with a little feta and a yoghurt and tahini sauce. Beautiful.

A bit too strong tasting for me but good value

These are good value but unlike white fish, oily fish seem to develop a stronger flavour once stored frozen, so not for me. Probably spoilt by remembering childhood fishing trips and eating them within hours. The cats however disagreed entirely so will be buying them regularly as a treat!

Not fresh

Frozen fish does not automatically equate to fresh fish, especially oily fish. A new lesson learnt but at a great cost.

Wonderful, especially cooked with Perello olives.

I'm not normally a fan of the more pungent fishes, but this one is great. Slice up Perello olives, place on top of fish, and grill together for 10 minutes. Perfect.
