good frozen alternative

Not quite as fresh fish but I find that this is always the case with frozen. this is a good frozen alternative.

Cooking time is absurd!

This fish takes a very long time to cook. Any other I buy from other stores cook fairly quickly, between 20-30 minutes. This one takes over 40 minutes to be ready. And when it is ready it just takes funny...

Very Satisfied

I purchased this frozen cod last month and was very happy with the product. I thawed the fillets on the counter in cold water for a little more than an hour. When thawed, I drained and dried the fillets, dredged them in corn flour, salt and pepper. Then I pan fried them in a little olive oil and butter. They tasted like fresh fish! I will definitely reorder. The fillets were well prepared and fairly uniform in size, especially in the thickness, which is good.

Not what it used to be.

I like to buy Waitrose as you know it will be sustainably sourced, but the quality has really droped. You may expect to trim a bit, but I am now taking 20/30% off to get rid of the skin and brown stuff. I will be looking for some around better quality in the future.

Didn't like it at all

Thought we'd try frozen cod to see how we got on, as some frozen fish can be very good quality and value. After defrosting these cod pieces gently as recommended It was watery and limp. Didn't really want to cook it but tried it anyway. Not something we want to repeat, we'll stick to fresh.
