Each of our Tiger Top loaves has its own unique and magnificent mottled coat resulting from a tasty glaze of rice flour, olive oil and sugar that naturally cracks as the loaf rises. Enriched with milk and butter, this Pain de Mie style bread is soft, easy to eat and ever so slightly sweet.
About GAIL's
GAIL's believes in the art of honest breadmaking. We start with just four simple ingredients: flour, water, salt and yeast, and we never add artificial colours or flavours. Instead, we seek out the best ingredients from where they're best, whether it's hand-peeled Bramley apples from Britain, single source unsalted butter from France, or plump juicy olives from Mediterranean groves. All our loaves are made by hand too, so we never need to add the stabilisers and preservatives that are an unavoidable fact of industrialised bread.
Our selection of classic and globally-inspired artisanal breads includes a range of sourdoughs made from 15-year old wild yeast starters. Allowed to rise slowly and naturally, these loaves take 48 hours to make and possess a mature taste and character that a mechanically processed loaf couldn't hope to match.

Heavenly with a café au lait on a slow Sunday morning, our Tiger Top’s sweetness can also be paired with foie gras or smoked salmon.
Children adore it smothered in chocolate spread, jam or lemon curd, while a few stale slices will make a fine bread and butter, or summer pudding.

'Marmite' bread
Looking at other reviews, people seem to love it or hate it. Husband and I love it. Come to think of it, pretty good with Marmite.

My husband loves it
It's hard to find a bread both me and my husband like. He tends to favour sliced brown 'with bits in', which seems ok until you look at the long list of ingredients...so try as I might, I can't get him onto sourdough. He doesn't like the crustiness. Which I love! So I found this bread, and he likes it, and because it's made very simply, I feel happy with him eating it. I like it too, but I still buy sourdough, and just slice it up and stick it in the freezer so it doesn't go stale. I don't think this bread is too sweet - obviously it has a sweeter taste than sourdough, but it's nowhere near as sweet as something like brioche. And the texture is good - springy and soft, without being doughy and sticking to the roof of your mouth.

Too sweet and a weird texture. I have had much better Tiger breads. Won't buy again.
