Preparation and Usage
Instructions
Add two tablespoons per pound of meat to the fillings of steak and kidney pies and puddings to give them a spicy mushroom flavour and a rich colour.
Roast Meats & Poultry:
Mushroom Ketchup can be used as a marinate for all meats and poultry and also for basting during roasting. Use the resulting pan juices to make a rich dark gravy with the appetising smell and taste of mushrooms.
Sauces & Soups:
Enriches all brown sauces and soups and makes an excellent flavouring for cream of mushroom soup and mushroom sauce.
Straight from the bottle:
Mushroom Ketchup is delicious on grilled chops, kidneys, liver or steaks.

I use this to add extra flavour to Ragu (whether pork & beef, tofu, or lentil).
Disappointing!!
I really wanted to like this but unfortunately it had such a strong overwhelming taste of cloves and vinegar and was very salty that I have thrown the bottle away after one use.

if you think this is like tomato ketchup then you're not really trying hard enough. it's basically a vegetarian version of Worcestershire sauce. so if you're not sure what to use it for, use it for the things you'd use Worcestershire sauce for. Hope that helps. It's rather nice, btw

I think you do net need a degree in food science to see from the label that this is posh worcester sauce. I love it - rich taste that adds to anything to use it in. And of course it does have mushroom in it..
Tangy
Great salty, tangy ingredient for soups, gravy and stews. I add to nearly all my dishes including baked beans! You have to realise though, that it is neither mushroomy or ketchupy in taste (hence the negative reviews!), but adds an umami kick when you need it.
