Reliable and Does the Job
This is a good quality product that is a stalwart in my kitchen. Especially good as nobody has ever noticed that I did not use fresh garlic, and that's because it is as good as the fresh, just as dried herbs are legitimate ingredients that are often superior to fresh for that authentic aroma and flavour. Fresh is not always best.

Virtually no garlic taste!
I used this in my ratatouille and I just couldn't taste it at all even though I used a hefty dollop about 3rd of a tube So I tasted it neat from the tube and it has virtually no garlic taste. It is cut with far too much vegetable oil snd I wouldn't buy it again

Ultimate shortcut.
Couldn't live without this - as much as I like preparing meals from scratch, sometimes I just want the bolognese sauce to be made quickly and this saves sooo much time.

Paul Ainsworth's Chilli Chicken Pasta
This is a fantastic dish which can be almost cooked from start to finish in one pan. Any fresh pasta will do for this recipe however Paul recommends long pasta, which works well with the texture of the sauce.

Alfred Prasad's Pepper Chicken
A one-pot chicken curry dish which is given its unique flavour by a sprinkling of crushed peppercorns, cardamom pods and a ginger/garlic paste. If you don't want to use chicken on the bone, use skinned pieces of chicken breast, which will also speed up this recipe considerably.

Arancini, or risotto balls as they are sometimes known, mark the perfect way to make the most of leftover risotto, especially once served with a piquant arrabiata sauce. Leave the sauce to simmer for as long as possible, to give depth of flavour.

Adulterating their own product
The last tube I got was 59% garlic. This new tube had a different, more liquid texture, so I checked, and it's now down to 51% garlic -- any less garlic and they'd have to call it 'oil and garlic paste'. So. You need to use about twice as much as you think you do. It's still a fantastically convenient product, but it's not as good as it used to be.
