Prepare & Use

Cooking Instructions:
Place the duck on a grill rack or trivet over a roasting tin. Cook in centre of oven (for 45 minutes per kg of a duck). Check that the bird is cooked by piercing the thickest part of the thigh with a skewer. The duck is cooked when the juices run clear and there is no pink meat. Cover with foil and allow to stand for 10 minutes before serving. Prick the skin all over with a fork to pierce it

Regular buyer of these Tips for keeping moist

I am ordering another one of these having had quite a few whenever on offer and was a bit taken aback when I saw the reviews as I have never been disappointed. Duck can get tough when it is overcooked and if you put your finger on the breastbone and can feel a gap developing under the skin it will get dry if cooked any more. Cooking upside down for some of the time helps the juices run into the breast and crisps underneath and I always put a whole peeled onion in the cavityand save any oranges or apples that have gone wrinkly to put inside any roast bird as it helps keep moist. Hope this helps

Yuk!

Would give it no stars if I could. Leaking on other food when it arrived. Cooked as instructions & when fat had melted down duck was tiny. Only just enough for 2 people. Tasteless & too tough to cut or eat so threw it in the recycling bin. Will it ever rot down? I doubt it.

Packaging Not Improved

Despite previous reviewer having bag leaking problem I had hoped Ocado might have sorted it out but no - duck leaked over other items it was packed with.

Nice duck

Been buying these since half price - they taste good and produce excellent crispy skin, keeping the whole family happy! Only bad thing is the black ink from the packaging comes off on your hands when opening.
