Had the recipe changed?
I have used these mushy peas before, but just recently the last couple of tins have tasted off? They were in date, but had a real bad taste to them. Definitely won't be buying this brand anymore.
Oh these are bad.
Sloppy green water with more salt, sugar and dye than pea. Tiny, hard, pea. Think I'll get marrowfats & mush them myself.
expensive for pea juice
Was really shocked at how awful these were. I must have had a faulty tin cos all I had was green water! Much cheaper and better ones out there!
Mushy peas
These are fine. They seem a tad expensive for mushy peas but as we do not have them very often it is ok for us.
Just ok
There really isn't a great choice on the market for tinned mushy peas. These just about pass the test if nothing else is available. But they are watery and rather tasteless. Not exactly a glowing recommendation.
Perfect
I always serve my own mushy peas when I get take out or delivery fish and chips. 2 minutes in the microwave (stir after 1) Add salt and vinegar once theyre on the plate. Dont miss that bit or they wont taste like proper chippy peas. Far, far superior to any mushy peas Ive had from any chippy anywhere.
