Very poor quality
We tried to use this the day after purchasing. The contents looked split when opened and didn't help when we tried to warm it so ended up throwing away the whole pot. Very disappointing.

Unpleasant consistency
Product was separated and did not recombine on heating. Result was thick blob with with nasty buttery oil on top.

awful
the smell, consistency and fact you have to use it all at once. We threw it away just after heating it up. My husband had to leave the kitchen as he could not stand the smell. I was brave enough to smell it but decided against eating it.

Not Hollandaise sauce...
One reviewer uses the word custard and i think that's fair. I tried this on my Eggs Benedict this morning and was hoping for something more than the rather acid taste of Maille Hollandaise. Huge disappointment - I think it's utterly bland and it's not Hollandaise. Delia's recipe is 2 egg yolks, some lemon juice, white wine vinegar, some butter and salt and pepper. Instead of those simple ingredients, we have here - in addition to what we should have - single cream, milk , double cream, water, cornflour, sugar, and cayenne pepper.... Well, I'm making it myself in future !

best pre-made hollandaise
I'm surprised by the negative reviews, I've tried a gambit of pre-made hollandaise sauces (my French husband will make it from scratch himself but is a bit time consuming to ensure it's properly done), and we both agree this is the best quick one out there. If you have a trouble with the sauce being split, first try warming it up in low heat and mix often to see if it will merge. If not just take out some of the butter, take rest off hear and mix vigorously and you should be good to go. We've only had that issue once with this sauce but quickly fixed it by dong the above.
