Flavour without saltiness

So many stock cubes just seem to add a sea water flavour that I always seem to return to these with relief.

Perfect for those on reduced-salt diet

This is a great product for anyone who is on a reduced-salt diet (eg anyone with high blood pressure). Stock cubes are notoriously high in salt. The leading manufacturers beef stock cube has over 4 grams of salt per cube. Even their 'reduced-salt' cube has over 3 grams of salt. If you want to reduce the amount of salt in your diet, using these will make a huge difference. The previous reviwer thinks this cube has too little salt. I can understand that if you're used to a lot of salt in your diet, this is going to make your food taste different. However, I would suggest that we should concentrate more on the herbs and spices that we add to food, rather than always adding salt to 'improve flavour'. When making stews, casseroles, etc, I now use these cubes and have found them to be perfectly good. Reducing the amount of salt in your diet will make a big difference to your health, and these cubes are a great way to do that.

salt makes such a difference

As it says on the packet. I am all for low salt but this is not a happy compromise and the flavour is dissappointing for a stock.
