Lard is good
I've been low carbing for two years and I fry with lard frequently. It's really not the artery-hardening substance we've been led to believe. Does spatter more than oil though. This is the brand I buy and it's good

Lard is back back back!!
Ok, so I thought lard was a disgusting, unhealthy product that my Mum used years ago. Now it seems, it is actually what we should be eating and is what we are designed to consume. The low fat fodder we've been feeding ourselves is making us fat!! How did our Grandparents live to 90 on lard? How indeed!! Check out the truth about lard and then buy this. Great product, great price and not the sinister product you believed it was. Healthy heart, hair and skin here I come!!

Lard is lard!
Smells like lard smells, which isn't particularly pleasant but it does the job fine.

As good as you would expect lard to be
I use this to make pastry and it's absolutely fine - cheaper and healthier than butter and I haven't found it to have a bitter/unpleasant taste/smell at all.

Horrible - smelly
I must be used to beef lard or maybe not, but I grew up with lard my whole life and have never smelled one so awful. It actually stinks of dirty pigs. So I cannot wait to see what my pie crust will taste like as it too smells. They used to carry another brand which was MUCH better. I will be finding other sources. Shame.
