Chardonnay-Viognier - White French Wine

La Châsse Chardonnay-Viognier is sourced from the finest vineyards of France. Our winemakers carefully select the noble grapes to create this elegant blend of Chardonnay and Viognier.
This round and harmonious white wine displays ripe, exotic and fruity aromas and is in a fresh, lively, easy-drinking style on the palate.
The name La Châsse is derived from the historic chest that contained the great reliquaries of the Pontiffs who lived in Avignon during the 14th century.

Vinification Details

Chardonnay and Viognier grapes are picked at the coolest time of the morning in order to preserve their freshness before the southern French sun warms the vines too much. The grapes are pressed after a short skin maceration and 48 hours later the clear juice is racked off. This wine is not matured in oak, giving a fresh style.

Very easy to drink

Really like this, not bone dry but certainly not sweet either. Has a tiny hint of lychee about it like a Gewurtraminer and would go quite well with Asian food I reckon.

Gorgeous wine!

Normally I'm a pinot grigio drinker if drinking white wine although like heavier rose and red. This is perfect! A beautiful blend of, what can be, heavy chardonnay softened by the viognier. A must for those afraid of trying something different without going for a sauvignon or chenin blanc.
